友谊 和平 春天

作品《友谊 和平 春天》，以手工石刻的形式刻画出一个三维立体的石人面，它由五个大小不一的石面组成，有三层寓意。首先，它寓意着世界是一个大家庭，虽然各国人们的肤色不同，语言不同，信仰不同，种族不同，但是我们拥有共同的追求，那就是：珍视世界和平，增进人类友谊和促进民族共融。其次，它也表达了来自世界各地的雕塑家为了相同的艺术梦想相聚在中国，相聚在长春国际雕塑展。最后，它体现了2008年北京奥运会的主题“同一个世界，同一个梦想”，代表着来自世界各地的运动员为了相同的奥运梦想相聚在中国，相聚在北京，是这个神圣的梦想让世界各国人民团聚在一起，使我们的友谊得到升华。总之，作品处处传递着此次长春国际雕塑展的主题：珍视和平，促进友谊，畅想春天。

马温·查普曼，男，1971年9月19日出生于圣基茨 奈维斯联邦，1992年开始自学雕塑，到目前为止已成为国内卓有成就的雕塑家。他的作品曾多次参加当地的旅游展览会，也曾在2001年受邀赴加拿大参加国际贸易展览，并在当地贸易展览中多次荣获奖。他曾在加拿大培训奖励工程中获奖，并赴牙买加进行培训。其艺术创作已达到上千件，代表作品《海豚》《塘鹅》《耕耘者》等被陈列在世界闻明的当地一家五星级酒店“四季之家”中。他还多次去当地的学校发表演讲，受邀参加广播谈话类节目并多次在访问者杂志中发表学术文章。

Friendship Peace Spring

The sculpture “Friendship Peace Spring ”is a hand-crafted multi-faced stone works. It is made up of five faces of different sizes，which delivers three allusions. Firstly, it embodies the desire for a brighter future of all. Despite of the differences in colors, languages, creeds and races, we seek for the ideal of mankind—unity, friendship and peace. Secondly, it means that the sculptors from all around the world  come to Changchun International Sculpture Symposium for the same artistic pursuit. Thirdly, it symbolizes the spirit of the Olympic Games:“One world  One Dream”, which calles the athletes from different countries come to Beijing for the same Olympic dream..

    Marvin Chapman, male, was born on September 19^th ,1971 in St.Kitts &Nevis. He is a self-taught sculptor who has started carving since 1992 and has been a prominent national artist until now. He has attended the local Tourism Expositions for many times, and in 2001 attended an International Trade Show in Canada. He has received awards for Business Trade Shows locally for many times and has received an award from the Canadian Awards Project to study in Jamaica for sculpting techniques. He has created thousands of artistic pieces for the Four Seasons Resort Hotel locally which is world renowned for being a Five Star Hotel in Nevis. He has given lectures to students at secondary level locally, also Radio Talk Shows locally.
