Badagu Aka, female, was born in New Caledonia in 1962. She attended many sculpture exhibitions in New Caledonia, France and Australia. She actively took part in the public art exhibitons, short-time service constructions and building monuments. In 2006 and 2007 she held her solo exhibition respectively in Art center, nouméa, NC and Berheim library, nouméa, NC. In 2008 she took part in Cultural Center Tjibaou, nouméa, New Caledonia. For her she could make any shape she wants with metal.

The work expresses the theme that people, though different in race and nationality, can live together harmoniously. In this sculpture people, of different colors and blood, live together as different canes can be woven together into a mattress. As shown in this sculpture the canes go up to the top and woven together as the roof of a tent, under which people meet and chat with each. Canes and tent are common in New Caledonia. Under the tent eople are often sitting on the mattress talking about their tribe life.
