和  谐

作品《和谐》由两棵互相缠绕的树，星星和月亮组成，代表雕塑家的美好愿望——地球上所有的一切能够和谐相处。星星象征着地球上的五个大陆，树代表了地球上的生物，雕塑家将它们放在一起，希望不同种族之间没有战争，人类与自然万物之间能够和谐。和谐是一种美，只有一切事物都能和谐相处，这个世界才会更美丽。

尤比·契林东郭，1946年1月24日出生于库拉索（荷属安的列斯），自学雕塑并且成一名优秀的雕塑家。年轻时他在欧洲居住了十多年，成为一位画家。1978年他回到了自己的出生地，作为一名视觉艺术家从事艺术创作。在此以后他参加过几次世界性的展览，例如古巴，南非，巴西，美国等。他还是一名演员，曾经扮演过很多电影的主角。他的人民给予他很高的评价。他经常利用废旧的材料进行重新加工组合，赋予作品新的生命。人们把这叫做“废品艺术”，所以他也被称为“废品艺术家”。他曾获得许多奖项：1992年的旋转车轮奖，1994年的第一届环境奖，1997年的可乐德夫罗特奖。他的许多作品被库拉索，古巴，美国，加拿大，德国，比利时，美国等国家收藏。

Harmony

The sculpture Harmony, composed of two trees twisting together, the star and the moon, represents the sculptor’s good wish that everything in the world can live in harmony. The star symbolizes the five continents, and the tree, the beings on the earth. The sculptor puts them together hoping that there is no war between peoples and no conflict between man and nature. Harmony is beauty; only when everything is in harmony the world is beautiful.

Yubi Kirindongo was born on Jan 24^th, 1946 in Curacao (Netherlands Antilles). He studied sculpture by himself and then became an excellent sculptor. In his early years he had lived in Europe for more than ten years and became an outstanding painter. In 1978 he returned to his birthplace and worked as a visual artist. In the following years he participated in several international events in many countries, such as Cuba, South Africa, Brazil, and America. He was also an actor and played important roles in many films. He country people gave special recognition. He often makes use of the scrap materials and gives the work a new life. This is called “Scrap Art” and he is known as a “Scrap Artist”. He had received many prizes including the Rotary Wheel Award in 1992, the 1st Environmental Prize in 1994 and the Cola Debrot Prize in 1997. Many of his works were collected by countries like Curacao, Cuba, America and Canada
